Bang Po Beach
A great beach full of restaurants and beach bars and a great sunset at the end of the day. Directly in front is the nearby island of Koh Phangan, home to the famous full moon party.
Bang Po is one of the quieter beaches, so ideal for those looking for peace and quiet away from the main tourist areas.
Bangrak Is located in the northeast of Samui and has smooth sand, good swimming choices. You have fantastic views over the 12 meter high golden Big Buddha and the island of Koh Phangan. Bangrak has everything to offer such as restaurants, bars and shopping opportunities along all types of accommodation.
Bophut or Bo Phut beach is about three kilometers long Here you’ll get a superb view overlooking Koh Phangan and the Gulf of Thailand. Before the tourists came to Koh Samui, Bo Phut was a small fishing village and still there are some fishermen with their characteristic boats. Nowadays, there are smaller ferries and speedboats transporting divers and the tourists Bo Phut is also located near the island’s airport and very close to one of the islands’ larger piers, from where ferries depart regularly to Koh Phangan and Koh Tao. In the evening, when it’s time for dinner, Bo Phut have many cozy restaurants to choose from. Here you are able to order fresh seafood, fresh fish, traditional Thai dishes or why not a juicy steak if you are more into “western cuisine”.
Chaweng is the most popular beach on Koh Samui is called Had Chaweng and it is located on the island’s east coast. On the six kilometer long beach, you’ll find many hotels and cozy resorts. Chaweng Beach Road is perfect for those who appreciate affordable shopping, intense nightlife and fine dining alternatives. You will find many dive schools here as well as thai boxing, internet cafes, tailors and many restaurants that serves Thai food and cuisine from the whole world. Or why not just enjoying the sun and a refreshing drink. The most popular beach bar in Chaweng is Ark Bar, situated in the center of the beach.
Choeng Mon Beach
Choeng Mon is a secluded beach, 4 km north of Chaweng Beach and 5 minutes from Bophut’s Fisherman’s Village, is the perfect beach for families and couples who want to enjoy peaceful and quiet beach holidays. The water is rather shallow and makes it safe for children to play and snorkelers can explore the underwater world right from the beach. Accommodation all along the coastline catering for all types of budget. Water sports like wind surfing and canoeing, and other activities are readily available as well as shopping and restaurants.
Lamai is a very popular beach on Samui is called Had Lamai and is located south of Chaweng on the east coast of Koh Samui. The beach is beautiful, especially the southern parts. The number of tourists is noticeable less here than in Chaweng but you’ll find a couple of smaller clubs and many small bars and pubs.
Lamai beach also offers a variety of water sports including jet ski, water skiing, wakeboarding, windsurfing, parasailing and you are also able to rent a motorboat for a private tour.
Lipa Noi Beach
Lipa Noi – or as some call this, Sunset Beach, is the most untouched beach on the west coast of Koh Samui and just 5 minutes from the ferry pier to the mainland. It is the place for peaceful and quiet beach holidays away from the crowds with beautiful sunsets and scenic views of the Angthong National Marine Park and the mainland.
As there are only a view resorts along the beach you will have plenty of space on the crystal clear sea. There is not much around but Nathon’s shopping area is only 4 km away.
Maenam, or otherwise known as Mae Nam is located in northern coast of Koh Samui. The beach is about five kilometers long and is a very popular place. This beach is an excellent holiday destination if you are traveling with children or if you just want to just relax, without interference from loud music from bars, etc.
Maenam is also situated close to Samui’s most challenging golf course; Santiburi Golf and Country Club so why not book yourself a round.
Taling Ngam Beach
Taling Nam This pristine bay stretching along the southwest coast of Samui is still unspoiled. Luxurious resorts along the beach offer all the facilities you might need and restaurants are available for some fine wining and dining experience.
Perfect for couples and families who look for a peaceful holiday. It is about a 20 minute drive to Nathon if you need to do some shopping and 30 minutes to the bustling nightlife of Lamai or Chaweng.
